History & Vision

In the mid-1970s, H.P. began shifting the business focus to short-line farm equipment, including augers, wagons, and sprayers—responding to the changing needs of the agricultural industry. Known as a hard-working and well-respected businessman, H.P. managed the company independently until 1993, when he brought Phil Oppold into the business. Phil worked alongside H.P. until 1997, when he and his wife, Lois, purchased the business. H.P. continued working part-time until his full retirement in 1998.

Under Phil and Lois’s leadership, the business was renamed Krogh-Oppold Feed & Supply. Over time, the feed milling side was phased out, and the company expanded further into short-line farm equipment. In 2008, they added a new salesman, Kris Sailer, to help support their growing customer base.

As demand continued to grow, so did the need for more space. In 2009, Phil purchased the former skating rink in Iowa Falls and converted it into the new location of Krogh-Oppold Feed & Supply. The larger facility allowed the team to expand its inventory, offer more parts and services, and better support their customers. What began as a small local business had grown into a full-service dealership with six full-time employees and a strong reputation for dependable service and customer care.

In 2025, Jace Krogh purchased Krogh-Oppold Feed & Supply from Phil and Lois Oppold. Originally from Huxley, Iowa, and a graduate of the Ballard Community School District, Jace now lives in Iowa Falls and brings new energy and leadership to the business. Phil and Lois are currently assisting with the transition and plan to fully retire in the fall of 2025.

Today, Krogh-Oppold Equipment Sales and Service continues to serve North Central Iowa and surrounding areas with a commitment to quality short-line equipment, parts, and service. From its beginnings as a feed mill to its evolution into a trusted equipment dealer, the business remains focused on the same core values: honesty, reliability, and treating every customer like family.
